January 19, 2006Dying Crooners profile
And now, a little self-promotion… I’ve been sitting in with the local SB band Dying Crooners lately—a one-time gig turned into a regular practice sesh. I played bass with Dan (the guitarist) when we were Trip-D many years ago, and when our drummer Dennis left to pursue a career in the Culinary Arts (as drummer are wont to do), we split up. Davo is on bass now, and I’ve been having a jolly time with the drums. And now Michelle, friend to Dan and Davo (and, I would now hope, me), will be sitting in now and again to play lap guitar (and maybe drums?). Anyway, there are some audio samples and info at: http://www.myspace.com/dyingcrooners I’m sure pix, new tracks, and upcoming shows will be put up as they happen. Enjoy! You'll need to register to see the additional photos (the "View More Photos" link under the main photo), but there's no cost--just make up a user ID and password and you'll have a generic account you don't have to use. (Although you might want to consider getting an account anyway. MySpace is pretty popular, and many people use it to promote bands, businesses, or simply themselves. Great networking potential. The down side is that the site can be very slow at times, and you can be subject to many people wanting to be your "friends." Don't worry, your e-mail address isn't made public. I'm deciding if I'm going to make a profile for myself.) The rest of the profile can be viewed by anyone. Comments
