Hello Everyone,

Ah, it's been a while since last we spoke. Since my last update, a lot has happened. I’ve moved, a friend passed away, I’m insinuated myself even deeper into the travel writing world, I’ve been sick, I’ve traveled, I met a girl, I’ve seen my favorite bands perform…it’s been a full year so far. Anyway, I’ll spare you with the details for now. (I will have more details in my annual Xmas form letter, which I’ll post here in mid-December.) In the meantime, let me tell you the most recent news as well as what’s coming up.

Well, I’ve finally started submitting writings to various travel-writing markets. Nothing too extreme—a few blurbs and a narrative. Over the months, I’ve been networking and meeting various editors, writers, and publishers, and not only have I been getting great advice and leads, but I’ve also been motivated to write more because of this constant exposure. This has been just the kick in the butt I’ve needed since I moved to Santa Barbara. Hopefully I can keep the momentum going. Wish me luck!

Also, the staff and I have decided to hold off on FP until the beginning of next year. We’ve been discussing formats, and we all agree that FP should definitely have one. Now we just have to figure out what kind of format to use. And then we’ll need content. Can’t forget that. Anyway, around the first of the year, we should have something up and running. And we’ll be updating the blog a little more frequently too. Of course, that’s the plan…

OK, not much else is going on. I’ll be traveling a little more frequently soon, and I’ll post an itinerary up on the blog. If you’re near a place I’m planning to be, let me know and we’ll meet up for coffee or flan or something. (Love that flan.)
