Okay, catching up for real this time

We left off with the car poopin' out on a back road out of Sante Fe towards Albuq...u...e.....r....q.... (however you spell it).
"Can we make it the 25 miles to the next town?"
"I don't know but we will try."
And try we did, and make it we did with the car freaking out the whole way.
Oddly enough, the next town was Las Vegas.
NO, not Las Vegas, Nevada. We were headed the other way. It was Las Vegas, New Mexico. It was absolutely nothing like Las Vegas, Nevada.
What does Las Vegas translate to in Spanish anyway?
Weird.
It was a small town but I did get my car fixed in one day by a bunch of (admittedly) drunk Mexicans. One of them was so drunk he couldn't even work. They had to sit him in a chair in the lobby.
And what was wrong with my car?
It was the freakin' spark plug. We felt a little idiotic. Not that I should be able to change a spark plug but for some reason I think I should. I have power tools, for goodness sakes.
So one replaced spark plug and we were on our way... but with a little less gusto and a little more desire to make it home.
The drive back to Tulsa was uneventful.
We were there for two nights.
Had to pack up and get ready for the BIG TRIP TO MEXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICA!

Big THANKS go out to Cindy and Les for letting us stay the night in Houston. They fixed us the BEST meal we had had in months and months! It was awesome, comfortable, relaxed, air-conditioned, and their kids are absolute charmers.
