I’ve set up my blog now

Hello,

Decided to set up a website because I am too lazy to write separate emails and it is much easier for you to see pictures this way. I will start at the beginning:

My first day, feeling a bit wobbly and anxious, I went into the city and found the public transport is free. I made the most of the opportunity to get lost as many times as I wished and travelled pretty much most of the city. Had my first Australian lunch in King’s Park which has a great view over the city.

I like Perth, it is small and it feels good to be so far away from all the other cities in the world. The people who live here are pretty laid back. ‘Rush hour’ just means there are slightly more people that usual wandering around. There are loads of nice shops though so it is hard not to spend money.
Seen some good graffiti.

The hostel I started in was really small which means its easier to get to know people. It surprised me how much better I felt just to have people ask how my day went. These are some of the first people I met: Jaz and Pete. We played a LOT of card games.

Cottesloe is a suburb of Perth with a beautiful beach. I went there on my second day, bought my first pair of flops and said hello to the indian ocean for the first time.

After a few days I booked a bus trip up the north coast to Broome, I felt a bit scared but really excited to be leaving the city and what had already become familiar faces.

  1. Hey Deb

Loving the pics and the stories, but James and I have a few suggestions for improvement: namely more about us and less about others!

We both miss you already – tea and tim tams is just not the same without you.

Keep up the writing – can’t wait for the next entry

    xxxxxxx
