Queenstown, party town
I’ve put photos in the relevant sections. It takes so long to do sometimes!
At least now you can see how restrained I was with the photos of trees. I had a choice of at least 30 tree-related pictures to choose from.
Its the day before new years day in Queenstown and it’s getting really busy. There is a big cricket match here tomorrow between Sri lanka and the NZ black caps. It is a small town and I am sure I have seen a few of the players wandering around.
Christmas day was good, the hostel owners bought 4 bottles of vodka which we made into punch, we needed extra vodka which we got from a bar owner who happened to be walking past and got us some from his bar. We made it last most of the day. A boy arrived halfway through the day and put his tent up to dry which produced something of a festival mood. Eventually everyone was sitting (in the car park) around the tent and there was a guitar and singing and stuff. Nice.
Few days ago I went ‘to look at’ the bungee with some friends I’d made at the hostel. We decided to do the jump seeing as we were there. It was a really good day, (mostly because the bungee had been completed). We went to a place called Arrowtown for lunch and walked along the river, then went to an old cinema to see King Kong.
Did some more horseriding yesterday, feeling a little saddle-sore (I can barely walk). They decided to give me a crazy horse (again) which liked to attack other horses at random, and my stirrup snapped off whilst cantering so it was a challenging day. I didn’t have much time to pretend I was a Rider of Rohan…. Other than that I’ve been trying to do activities that don’t cost too much so been doing a lot of walking. Got a little bit lost the other day on a mountain but it was good fun. I figured as long as I was going DOWNHILL i couldn’t get into too much trouble. The views were amazing. Queenstown is growing fast so I wonder how long it will stay beautiful…

It all looks so amazing honey. I’m still so jealous apart from the bungee, you’re one brave chick to do that. That’s one thing you wouldn’t get me doing and you know I’ll do anything (as long as it doesn’t involve cockroaches, maggots, small places, caves ………) ha ha. Keep up with the blog too hun, cant believe how good you’ve been with it. I was such a lame arse when I went travelling, must remember next time MUST TRY HARDER 🙂 Miss you munchkin x
