Gadgets and Gear
This page is where we’ll keep a detailed list of the gear and gadgets we take with us on our journeys. We will keep this list pretty brief, and will post reviews on the regular blog as we write them.
- Osprey Meridien packs (Brian and Amy) – great wheeled luggage/backpack versatility with a detachable day pack
- Ebags (Brian and Amy) – really nice packing cubes that are extremely flexible and help you organize all of your stuff
- Crumpler camera bag (Brian) – camera bag for the Nikon D80 and an extra telephoto lens
- Packsafe Daysafe 200 (Brian) – rugged day pack that is slash proof and just plain tough for pickpockets to get into. It also has a removable safe that can be used to secure all of your valuables back in the room.
- Packsafe pocketbook/messanger bag (Amy) – A slash/pickpocket proof pocket book that Amy carries a phone, passports, and other vital items in
- Asus Eee Pc netbook (Brian and Amy) – We have the one with the 40GB solid state hard drive running Ubuntu linux. Great little Pc once you get used to the tiny keyboard.
- Nikon D80 (Brian) – Main camera with an extra telephoto lens.
- iPod Touch (Amy) – Armed with Skype (and Skype’s $13 a month upgrade) allows us to call our friends and family (cell phones and land lines as well as their computers) as long as we find a WiFi hotspot.
We carry other things which we will be listing in detail shortly.
