Parental Advisory

I moved home this past weekend. Temporarily. I’m just sticking around till my trip starts and will be returning to my parents after the trip to get my life back to together before heading off and doing whatever it is I am going to do. To be determined…

Living with the parents has its upsides of course but it also has its downsides. Free meals, free rent, laundry etc. etc. I’m real appreciative of them for letting me use their home as a stepping stone. It would be a real pain in the ass having to worry about paying rent somewhere else while i’m in another country. The privacy lacks and my bedroom is hot as hell but I guess it is all getting me used to life on the road. I’m going to go from no privacy to somehow even less privacy in shared bathrooms, guest houses and hostels.

I keep telling myself … 2 months to go. It’ll be here in no time.

In other planning news, I called the health department this morning because I have to get some more immunizations and they told me that their refridgerator broke and they lost all their yellow fever vaccinations so I have to try in a couple of weeks. I was supposed to get all of this done awhile ago but put it off. As long as I get it done 6 weeks before my trip i’ll be ok. The lady on the phone asked me if I was allergic to eggs and if I was 65 years or older. Do I honestly sound like a 65 year old man? And what if I was 64 and a half?

Get off my lawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yea, countdown check… 1 month 26 days

eh, immunizations may be a pain, but damn you will be happy you got them. I learned all about that during my Peace Corps process. It doesn’t protect your from things like amoebas and nasty parasites such as that. Just be extra safe. 🙂
