Sometimes we are surprised with ourselves, are we really doing this? The answer is always an unwavering yes. I think we are pretty proud of ourselves, simply for following through on what we want to do. We will be closing in Pittsburgh in about a week or two, then going for one last trip out to hawaii. When we’re back the condo selling process will begin, which will likely be quite stressful. Shortly thereafter we move, and then we’re out of here. 9 months to buy, sell, and do unening research seems reasonable to us, and so far so good.

I’ve been thinking recently about what life would be like without this shift. It’s hard to come back to the norm that has been our reality, after seeing to us what is a far better potential. I’m not sure what things will be like when we return, but I know they will be different, and better.

9 months is also approximately how long our trip will take, give or take whim-based alterations. Given two weeks of travel time, the years it would take us to cover this much ground would be around 18 years. I’d be 43. I’d probably have more material wealth and a wicked sweet white picket fence, but I’ve always been willing to substitute that for the immaterial. Admittedly I never thought I’d take it to this degree. So yes I’m a little surprised, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
