“On the rooftops shout it out…

5 May

…Baby I’m ready to goooo.” (Maybe Jes will only ‘get’ that one.)

Morven had a rooftop/bonfire/painting party. I thought Korea was amazing and could get no better. Then this happened. We brought a bunch of Koreans to liven up the party. They brought raw fish and lots of mekkju and soju (excellent.)

We casually sipped our beers, chatted, listened to Morven’s excellent playlist including a ton of Bjork and Joanna Newsom. We lounged out, really.

The music was brought downstairs, the newspaper laid out, and everybody grabbed a brush and some paints and got to work. We painted whatever we wanted. It was so freespirited and open.

Angehe was the first one to start painting.

Amy, aka missartschooldirector, created this lovely beautiful woman.

I hesitated to paint. I was scared. I ended up with a funny looking lotus flower.

The living room was a jungle, the kitchen a collage of random bits of fun. All in all, the best house party I’ve been to in a long time.

Mmmmm… Soju is awesome. Mihye showed me this. It reminds me of the Japanese equivilent, Shochu.
