Odaeson Bicycle Extravaganza IV
1 Jul
We finally accomplished riding our bikes to the Odaeson, 40some kilometers away from home. It rained, it misted, it poured… but we had ponchos. We cycled for hours and hours, got through two flat tires, and made it there before dark WITH a place to sleep.
We stayed in a room in a restaurant. The doors were tiny. I slammed my head so hard it knocked me to the ground and caused the automatic tear response (my first time crying in months, might I add.)
The restaurant had a back porch that exited to stairs down to the river.. rushing waterfalls and all. It’s so beautiful in Korea.
We hiked in the rain, which meant for some ‘slippy’ conditions. Mind the signs..
I saw this beautiful Japanese maple tree beside a big temple. The tree was what excited me, cause mom said she’ll plant one in our backyard at home! The color of the leaves are what ‘got’ me.
Koreans are always prepared for the worst case scenarios. Look at this cute couple, under umbrellas, eating lunch beside a waterfall.
“The ruin echoes softly as the roots undo..”
I climbed a big cliff and took a picture of my ‘mates’…
We were a little silly. Liam tried to throw Amy over the bridge, but she used her steroid-fueled upperbody strength to overpower him…
We saw some falling water…
The rocks were mossy, everything was moist. The moss was greener than green.
More picture will follow. For now, I will sleep. My legs are sore!
