En la capital!!
Ah, the smell of the capital….
Beijing, with it’s 9 million bicicles around you, gave me a good time. I was a bit disappointed though. I was expecting a big mess, narrow streets, cat stew in the street sralls and lots of traffic, but no you don’t find anything of that in Beijing, its a big “clean” city, with modern buildings and very wide street and of course the AMAZING great wall of China…
I guess everyone has heard of Peking duck, right? But who has really ate it? I have! I went to this fantastic restaurant, the biggest roast duck restaurant in Asia, and got the fancy fancy set menu for no less than 30 euros!! YEAH!!! it was delicious and the amount of food…..
After strolling around the city for a day, I went to the famous forbidden city, where the emperors use to be confined with their wife and concubines. The buildings are really pretty but the amount of tourist, specially Chinese, made it ahhhhh stressful.
And of course the Chinese wall. How could I leave Beijing without seen it? You can see it in 3 places near Beijing. I went to the least touristy, it took me 3 hours to get there by buses, metros and minivans and 3 hours to get back, but it was worth it a million hours more. It has being the only Chinese site that hasn’t let me down a bit. And I got to slide my way down on a 1.5 Km tobogan!! How cool is that? 🙂
Then it was time to move again, and after missing the train because the fecking woman didn’t tell me it left from another station, lose money on the refund and getting a seat in one for the next day, I got to Shanghai, but that my friends will come in the next update,
peace and love
