Killarney NP
I spent today wandering around Killarney National Park (again). I took lots of photos of birds that I won’t be able to identify till I get them on a computer with a bird book in front of me (oh and I saw a very pretty speckly golden brown bird that I could not for the life of me get a picture of). I was trying to take nice, artistic shots, but I usually only managed to get enough of a shot to identify that there actually is a bird in the frame. Oh well – practice (and more cooperative subjects) make perfect, right? Saw some more deer (red ones) but from much farther away. And a squirrel! I haven’t seen a squirrel in months! I wonder what kind this one was – it was very tufty. Walked the river path twice (it had the most birds), out to a couple of houses, and through the game woods, on what was more mud than path (my washed pants and boots are by the heater to dry). Unfortunately my room has been taken over – a nice french girl and a nice dutch girl who is here for the dance championships, and one decidedly dotty older Irish lady. Which is why I’m now down in the common room – I wasn’t get any reading done with her breaking into anecdotes every few minutes. Otherwise not much. Still trying to decide about Glengarriff. Headed to Cork tomorrow. The weather has been misty, but luckily the rain has been holding off (knock on wood). That’s… about it.
Is this it – the strokes
