Ack!

I leave for Ireland in about 24 hours. Have I packed yet? Nooo… Finished my chores here? Nope. Finished figuring out my new digital camera or new cell phone? Don’t make me laugh.

Yup – it’s down to the wire as usual. I can’t really properly update, as I have so much to get done before I leave. But I am excited. And nervous – but I think that will subside once I start packing, go over my budget one last time, finish writing down instructions for myself and my family, and finish breaking in my REI gear.

I will leave you with this: some travel-type music I’ve been listening to as I run around frantically and an inspirational quote:

Run baby run – Garbage
The Way – Fastball
Runaway – Iio
Stratford-on-guy – Liz Phair
I’m like a bird – Nelly Furtado
Mowbray Kaap – Freshlyground
Rambling man – Allman Brothers
Roam – B-52s
Around the world – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Free – Martinis
I’ve been everywhere – Rolf Harris (It’ll make you laugh)
Send me on my way – Rusted root
Holiday – Weezer
Get out the map – Indigo Girls
Every picture tells a story – Rod Stewart
Changes in Latitude – Jimmy Buffett
Move Along – All American Rejects
Far away places – Bing Crosby
And a whole bunch of Cranberries, Chieftans, and Gaelic Storm. Hey – I’m headed to Ireland first.

“At a certain point you say to the woods, to the sea, to the mountains, the world, Now I am ready. Now I will stop and be wholly attentive. You empty yourself and wait, listening” – Annie Dillard

Next post from Dublin!
