The following morning we checked out the hotel at 11am and headed out of town south east through the state of Delaware and into Maryland passing by Baltimore on the way down to Washington DC. The weather was pretty bad and raining hard and within the first hour Loz nearly crashed us into the back of a car that had stopped on the freeway, I thought ” what have I let myself in for!!” The weather got no better but at least the driving seemed to, I make a very bad passenger. We also had a couple of mishaps with directions and the 4 hour drive took us closer to 7 hours as we arrived in Washington DC at around 7pm. Nick the Australian guy had arrived before us and already checked into the hotel. We were staying at the Comfort Inn on 13th and Massachusetts.

So for the first time the four of us were now together and the trip can officially start. All of us were again tired so headed to a small local bar called Stony’s. We chatted and only had a couple of drinks but poor Loz who’s two greatest claims that night was that she could drink an Irishman under the table and that ” I just love cock” she had 4 average sized glasses of wine and was completely smashed falling all over the place. We all walked home and upon entering the apartment Loz fell into the bath and tried to sleep until I thought it a good idea to turn the tap on, it soon woke her up.
