Last night in Provence
Vanessa here. So we’re back at L’Jardin de Marie for the evening, taking it easy and preparing for our trip via TGV train to Paris tomorrow. We have enjoyed Aix en Pce but we are eager to get to Paris for the final leg of our trip. It is so nice being in France with Hope who can interpret and let me know when I’ve offended anyone…the French are so SENSITIVE! Alors, I am trying to speak my high school French when I can. Today us Sunday and things really do slow down in Europe in Sundays…a lot of shops and restaurants are closed. We were able to get more cheese today but not figs or wine. Sigh. I don’t know what we will do 🙂
Today we took a drive in the country and it was quite beautiful. We ran across a castle in a small village which had been owned and occupied by Picasso. Impressive for sure. Didn’t get to any museums here, to see any Cezanne, but we will see beautiful works when we get to Paris.
Okay, that’s it for now…chat with you all soon.

Hey Vanessa don’t worry about talking to those stuckup frenchmen, just smile and flutter your eye lashes and they will want to sweep you away to their Chateau. You know what the universal language is aye Amore.
Have fun on the train and get some more fromage in Paris and don’t let Hope go into any Designer Places, good grief she has enough clothes to cloth the whole continent of North America. No shoes or handbag either.
Man I should have gone with you to be your Chaperone and hold the purse strings.
Pas les gentile fille.

MOM (jackie)
Thanks Jackie! Hope and I kind of enable each other…so shopping together is hard on both our wallets haha. Would have loved for you to come along…and my mom too – sounds like a future trip for all us gals!!
Hi again Girls! Since the stores are closed today, your wallets may get alittle respite!!Sounds like a grand if somewhat rustic place to be. But how dare they close the wineries just when you`re there. Ah well, there`s still Paris. By the way, did you get inside the palace? Would`ve been my first perogative!! Enjoy the train ride tomorrow. Should be quite an experience……. Grandma phoned yesterday to see where you gals were, so I read your last blog to her. She was quite enthralled…… Said to tell you she was saying a prayer for you every day. Quite comforting, don`t you think? Must go now….Have fun & take care!!! (Mothers get to say that every time) Love, Mom
We so appreciate the prayers. The wineries may be closed for harvesting, but it has not stopped us from visiting the local wine shops. The Picasso castle is a private residence and they don’t accept visitors…in fact I didn’t see anything in the tourist guides about it. We heard about it from a fellow in the tourism office. They have been pretty helpful. My eyes have been opened to how easily one is able to travel around Europe and how safe it really is as long as you’re careful.
We are just finishing packing and will be leaving the B&B soon. We’re listening this morning to Lisa Ekdahl (sp). Beautiful jazz. Okay. A bientot!
wow!!! I’m loving these entries. I almost feel like I’m there with you!
