The sunrise coming up on summit morning. The sun coming up that morning is so wonderful, not only is it a beautiful sunrise but you know that if the sun is coming up it will soon be warmer and you will soon be at the summit. Oh, the joy when I saw that first ray of light coming over the horizon!
Here we are, we made it. I was deliriously happy at the summit, I’m sure part of it was due to lack of oxygen. I made Sharif, our assistant guide, sing ‘Deep in the Heart of Texas’ with me on the way down.
