May 24, 20054 AM Wake Up Call
God is great and all. But is there really a need to wake the entire city up with the muslim call to prayer over the PA in Marrakesh. The call to prayer happens 5 times a day and I swear al day you barely notice it. But when you wake up at 3:45 on your own and you are laying there trying to get back to sleep and suddenly you hear a man on the loud speaker saying "Allah Akbar" and reciting the Islamic prayer over and over with other PA systems in the background echoeing the same, it really creates a mysterious but uncomfortable feeling. I thought they did it at 5:30 in the morning so I definitely wasn't expecting it. I recorded the prayer to my camera so I can play it back when I get home. Comments
