We spent 7 weeks in Peru but forgot to write much about it, here are some pictures and words

The parades in Cusco last all day....

We spent a while in Cusco, it was pretty cold but we found a nice cheap hostel right in the centre of town so we could check out the continuous parade just round the corner.

The next day was the main part of the festival and the whole town and elsewhere went up to the Inca ruins above the town to watch....

This looks like a lot of people but once we got to a spot we just couldnt move, people were balancing on the top of the ruins and climbing over rocks, it was scary how many people were there.We made friends with this lady and here she is telling off a local lad.

We climbed a massive sand dune in Huacachina near Ica......

Ica was a dry dusty place with hundreds of Bike taxis

We flew over the Nazca lines in a very small plane, the pilot tried to make us sick with high speed turns and aerobatics....he failed...this is what we saw..
The lines are huge pictures etched into the desert around the city of Nazca...most are of animals like the hummingbird but there is also an astronaut which has led some people to think the lines are landing strips for aliens, i like this...most people think that the lines are for shamen to guide water down from the mountains onto the desert to feed the people of Nazca...it hasnt rained for 5 years and aliens still havent landed...but there are thousands of tourists in little planes looking at the lines so they did something right.


We really blended in in Peru....

We did some sightseeing around the sacred valley and Arequipa.....

...and found this herbert in June.
This all happened before we went back to Ecuador to get married.....
