Hey!! We are back and alive from the edge of the scary volcano. In fact the scary volcano wasn't - at all! A little poof of smoke after waiting a hour high on a hill sipping the local fire water to keep warm. Ah well, back to Quito ... . . . .

..... I had a great birthday last Friday in Quito. Our hotel had a great roof terrace with amazing views of the city. In the morning we took a trip to the Equator! So excited we were, took all our cheesy photos then went into the museum part that tells you that the line there isn't the Equator at all and it's unmarked somewhere up the road. We were suckered!

We got back to our roof terrace and had an the best picnic, then down to the spa at the hotel for a sauna and jacuzzi (Please don't panic, no pop up photos to follow). Then out for super nachos and big fat daquiris. The best birthday ever!!
