How was Santorini?

Whew, it's exhausting to travel like a tourist!
Kiriakos and I rented a car and I'm really not used to covering that much ground in a day. I'm back in Iraklion now, trying to re-adjust to my normal pace. Wanna see why everyone goes to Santorini (especially for honeymoons)? Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!

So we got a room in Fira, which is on the north west side of the island. Immediately we walked to the view-point there of the caldera. View image View image View image View image

People come to Santorini for the picture-esque views and the cutesey mountain-perched villages (if you can call a town with nothing but restaurants and trinket shops a village), but not the beaches, which are sub standard for Greece. View image

He He, look at these cute scare crows! View image

That night, we did the standard 'sunset at Oia'. So did everyone else on the island. It was pretty freakin' cool though. View image View image View image View image View image

The next day was beach day, we drove all around the island taking in the sights and finally stopping for some sun-baking. This is a picture of 'red beach' View image

Boys, check out this cool huge sail boat View image
Girls, see what I was really looking at (you'll have to open the picture in a new window)View image

Then we had to say goodbye to the mythical Atlantis of lore, and hello to reality. But had a good lunch first View image View image

And I had a drink to all my friends, old, new and future View image

Great pictures Kate! You're getting more skilled with the A60 all the time. But to be fair, it's pretty hard to take a bad picture in such a beautiful place!

Your Mom and I will have to visit on our next trip, she really wants to see the sunset at Oai. Something about making her life complete.

Glad you included pictures of the food and drink. Was that a Mythos in your mug?

Love and hugs as always,

Dad

Nice choice in camera... I have the A60 as well and I love it!

Beautiful pictures.

Totally. The A60 has become very dear to me.

That's hillarious, have you always signed your name like that?

My gf always signs 'Abbie(me)' when she sends personal emails!

On this page I sign like that, in order to avoid confusion if other kates comment, smarty pants :)

My girlfriend picked it up as a little girl and still uses it amongst those she cares about... thought it would have been funny if you had a similar story :p
