September 17, 2003Sougia (part 1)
This is going to be a late night for me, I have lots to tell and show you. Here, I'll show some pictures from Janel and I in Sougia. (I went back later with Sarah and Andy, see Sougia (part 2) for that) Here's one of Janel and I at 'Bla Bla', the German bar everyone goes to. View image One of the Belgians I met (Tim) and I decided to hike to Lissos, which is about 1.5 hrs (ouch, ankle) and puts you into this valley with the ruins of an ancient Greek healing spa, complete with a spring said to have magical healing powers...ooooh.... We were camped in front of the beach shower View image View image They were all so much fun to hang out with! This is is a big part of why I'm doing this, to make new friends (awww, how cute!) Comments
Hello lovely Kate, is it still so funny in Sougia? I think so. Sougia doesn't changes that much, exept for the people who come and go. I was one of them. For some days, the sound I made, crossed the space and killed the silence. The presence and motions of my body changed the scenery. Seventy liters of air needed to make place for the volume of my body. The places where I came, were temporary covered: some stones on the beach when I was lying upon them, the trunk of the tree when I stood in front of it. The water of the shower didn't felt straight down when I was under it. Now that I'm gone, all my influence on Sougia is gone. The silence I killed is reborn, the scenery repainted without me on the painting. No stranger comming after me would remark that I have been living for some days in Sougia. After reading this, you could start thinking that these days were a waste of time. But then you forget all the good memories and feelings in my mind and I hope also in the mind of others. My memories: a fantasy colouring the reality, a lived dream that I can play like a tape whenever I want. I love that happy end!
Thomas.
Wow Tom, you are quite the poet! My way of holding on to memories is by building this site so I can share with people who weren't there and to reminisce with those who were. I'll be writing about you and Ton in Sougia part 2. ahhhh flourecents! It sucks to be back at work. I don't want invoices, I just want Bla Bla Bla! I don;t want 300 emails, I just want Bla Bla Bla! heeheehee Love, Sare, it was totally my pleasure! I'm so glad that you guys came out, I had a really good time with you. Just think....somewhere good for spring! |
