blog – 4 letter word
Tuesday, August 15th, 2006Looks like it has been more than three months since I last felt like writing something. We’ve been in a sort of limbo since then, waiting for our place to sell. Our renter (cara’s brother that is) is settled in our new abode, but we are still stuck here, twiddling our thumbs and counting down the days. It has been depressing and we’ve been stressed a bit (lot), and for the most part trying not to think about our trip. Once we get an offer I imagine our heads will be consumed with travelling on the mind, but for now we must distance ourselves.
When I first started writing cara asked me why I was, given that I haven’t exactly ever been pro-blog. In general I feel that if I “talk” to people more through a blog than via email/IM/phone/in person, than it is impersonal and doesn’t inspire much camraderie or closeness. Unfortunately, I really don’t see myself as having the time/energy to devote myself to personalizing my efforts in various internet kiosks, and furthermore don’t really want to spend that much time on the computer (sorry), hence this rather lazy and unambitious blog. This blog is a somewhat half-assed attempt to tell people what we’re up to, where we are, that we’re okay, why the hell we’re doing this, and our unasked for opinions on travelling. Hopefully it will at some point become amusing or at least entertaining as well, but there are no promises.
