Tjapukai & Kuranda

Today was a busy day. We were going to the Tjapukai Culture center and through the rainforest to the city of Kuranda. Australia has a sorted and sad history for the way they treated the Aboriginal tribes in the early days. Thoes that they didn't kill were ran out of their villages and/or used for slave labor. The tribe of Tjapukai has a culture center to educate others of their history and culture - including song, dance, medicine and weapon such as spear and boomerangs. We started our day there learning about these intersting people who have resurected their culture.

Next was the amazing http://www.skyrail.com.au/. This cableway is almost 5 miles long with the highest point at 133 feet. We were so high in the air, soring above the tree canopy - even the birds. The views were literally breathtaking, words can't possibly do them justice. There were stops a long the way where we walked through the rainforest with a guide who described the trees, folage and insects.

Oh - my time on this computer is over..... I'll stop back in and write more later. Be assured that we're safe and having the time of our lives!

It's good to hear you're having fun in Australia. I'm glad you're not in Thailand right now. Do you guys need to make alternate plans given the state of things there?
