So I never thought I would be writing in this travel journal so soon after my trip to Tibet.

As luck would have it, however, I got a summer research grant from my university to study pentecostalism in modern politics in Nigeria. The whole project was a result of my wanting to go to Africa and in order to fund it, do research. So I chose politics and religion and my professor suggested Nigeria.

Unfortunately the country is also on the travel warning list, so I will be conducting my research at home for this grant, and then take a personal trip to Nigeria, and then Ghana for a week. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but this seems to be a theme where I will have a week long excursion at the end of my travel somewhere international.
