Tsethang

let me tell you about my day. So I got up the most disgusting I've ever been - cold sweaty, greasy with crumbs of dirt in my sleeping bag - the whole tent smelling of stinky feet - our bathtub is currently covered in dirt and hair to prove it - absolutely disgusting. The only reason I could handle it was because I knew we would be at this hotel in Tsethang today. I've decided I cannot journal or function mentally/academically when I'm that gross. We packed up and loaded into a large truck - which promptly got stuck in the mud. The next hour was spent trying to extract it - the Tibetan way.

So, the truck once out of the mud was a bumpy 45 min ride to the river where we boarded a ferry for another 45 min across the river. We had lunch on the side of the main road and I'd just like to take this moment to note how awesome our cook anyima is. He can make the most amazing meals out of anything - I ate everything he cooked without fail save for the red meat. Granted I was also really hungry, but it was still really good. We rode the bus - finally after all these days - to Tsethang and it felt weird to be moving that fast and smooth. We got into the hotel and took showers instantly and it was amazing - I did my laundry, got chocolate, a phone card (which never worked) and later some internet.
