October 28, 2004hanging out in Shanghai
It was only two hours on the train to Shanghai. My last train trip in China. Decided to go budget third class, no assigned seat, just find yourself a corner amongst the crush of bodies and luggage. For once I didnt have the largest bag in the carriage! History museum, science and technology museum, parks, the Bund, and markets. Shanghai has it all. The markets were a crazy whirl of chaos "DVD, watch, bag, shoe" but we managed to find some good bargains and lots of prezzies for friends back home. I gave up washing clothes, when dirty they went into the bin. Sounds wasteful but a) they were old and ragged and b) needed room for all my presents. Comments
