Kickin' in Kas

Yes, I am still here in Turkey... the plan was to be in Bangkok already, but Pamela and I decided to capitalize on an offer from a very nice retired Canadian couple to live in their apartment (rent free) for a few weeks. So here were are on the beautiful Mediterranean coast in the southern region of Turkey.... a town called Kas. It is sunny and warm and very friendly here. The Canadian couple is involved in a lot of development work here and, even though they are in Canada right now, we have been treated like royality by their business partners. We have been given extensive tours of the peninsula and have been invited to a local football (soccor) match today at 5:00 PM. What we have been doing mostly, however, is getting some much needed rest and relaxation! We've been sleeping, doing laundry, playing poker, and COOKING!! Pam cooked a chicken last night and we've been enjoying baked potatoes, fresh salads, chicken fried rice, scrambled eggs, etc.... it's heavenly.
Even more heavenly is the music development!! We are working on songs and harmonies and lyrics.... and we are actually quite good. Last night we started on Simon and Garfunkle's "The Boxer" and I am very pleased and surprised to find that I am actually pulling off Garfunkle's high ass harmony throughout the entire song. Cheers to Pam for actually giving me the confidence to do so and also a very fabulous base melody (she rocks!). Anyway, the dollar signs are ringing in my ears and (even though it is just all in good fun) it will be interesting to see if anyone in Asia gives a hoot enough to drop a few coins in our hat while we busk.
