Prague Castle

Day 19
Airports 5
Train Stations 7
Bus Stations 5

I am in awe. Prague castle is not just a castle.... it is an entire complex with a cathedral, dungeon, houses, and gardens. I am sitting here in the gardens outside the Summer Palace. I have been at the castle complex for five hours. I am tired, I am hungry, my feet hurt, but I absolutely have to capture some of what I´ve just witnessed. Everything is so beautiful. Thereś so much history.... St. George (the patron saint of Prague), Good King Wenslasus (who really was´t that good.... he had a priest thrown off the Charles Bridge to his death because the preist would not reveal his wifeś confession), King Ferdinan. I cannot even begin to describe the beauty of all the midevil and baroque fountains, statues, spires, and towers. The cathedral is the most impressive I have seen. The stained glass windows are huge, they are everywhere, and they are so detailed.... tiny panes of glass make up each piece.... itś like a mosaic. The old, crumbling frescoes are highly impressive.... dating from 1100 to 1300ś. I am floored at the artistic nature, you would have to be so passionate to create something like that. The attention to detail is stunning. I am in the presence of greatness.
