Perfect example of Incan Masonary. This stone is part of an old incan wall that still stands in Cusco. The spanish used the incan structures already in place to build upon in cusco. Their are walls like this all over cusco and are now combined with modern arcitecture to make the city the unique place that it is...the oldest continuially inhabited city in south america. Cusco was once the capital of the Incas. The spanish destroyed temples and such and used stones from the temples to build catholic churches...all part of destroying indiginious culture and subjugation of the people. Incas used no concrete and their structures have survived every earthquake that has hit the area since the structures were built...unlike the colonial spanish buildings that crumble and need to be rebuilt with each powerful earthquake. Kinda makes you wonder who were really the idiots. Sadly the spanish idiots had germs, guns, and steel, so they prevailed. Comments
