July 12, 2005Ice Climbing
Yup, thats me with helmet, campons, and ice axes climbing a 20 meter face of pure ice that belongs to the massive Pastururi Glacier. On that day i realized that ice climbing isnt my thing. Ice Climbing is fuckin hard work and at 5200 meters....the air is a bit thin so its hard to breath. Still, this was cool because it was the highest elevation that Id ever been at, it was my first glacier, and my first time ice climbing. Sad fact, because of global warming glaciers like this one are melting pretty fast. So if you want to see some glaciers, you should go now or reverse the environmental onslaght brought on my free market capatitalist policies and go at your convience....on second thought, you should go and visit soon since things wont change anytime soon.
