Apparently there are too MANY spoons

WHY?

Why do the Wachowski brother SUCK so bad??

I know this is a travel blog, but I need to vent. I was so looking forward to the sequels to The Matrix. Then I saw Reloaded, and wanted to cry it was so bad. It sucked but Ant tried to pacify me with "It's a transition movie, wait until Revolutions to pass judgement."

It's judgment time.

How is it possible for two guys, who obviously have to ability to make a great movie (or film, if you're a movie snob) and just throw it away to blow stuff up? Where did the ideas, mythology, and guts go? How about dialogue? Where did that go? It came down to, too many pointless and confusing characters, too many special effects that reminded me of Starship Troopers, and not enough story. In fact, the main characters were barely IN the movie because they decided that it was more important to have a political comment on guerilla warfare and its merits.

Anywho, I could go on for ages. Vince, if you are reading this, rant and rave for me. Start here: this movie BLEW. If anyone else has some thoughts on why Matrix Revolutions sucked, please feel free to pipe up.

Oh please, PLEASE don't let this happen to the final Lord of the Rings...

There is an awful lot of movie watching going on over in India. Never saw the 2nd or 3rd Matrix movies...but seriously Keanue Reeves is the main character, how much talent were you expecting. Saw the previews for LofTR and they look good.

I laughed over your last couple of blogs...your rants are the fiesty Claud I know. I think too much time on your paradise beach made you soft. :)

Well Thanksgiving is upon us but even though you are both far away, hope you enjoy it anyway.

Later.

PS I'll send some pics to you next week after I scan them at work.

Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving. Ah, a glorious 4 day weekend. Means so much to those of us that work everyday!!! :)

I'm with Dione on this one . . . I thought you were soaking up culture and life experiences, not Keanu Reeves. His acting skills are equivalent to those of a piece of wood.

You guys should check out the extended versions of LOTR.....if you have read the book you will want to bow down b4 Peter Jackson for his mastery. So not worried abt the 3rd one....cos there is always the DVD to fill the gaps.

As far as Matrix is concerned I have long erased the memory of 2 and 3. As far as I am concerned there is only 1 matrix with the animatrix making a good appendix to the movie

Your hilarious Claudia. I just hope I can rant like you at poor service when I am overseas! As for the Matrix Revolutions, I just saw it last night. Yah, not the best movie. (Spoilers to come) The thing that I thought was stupid was how in the 2nd one, they made a big huge deal on how Agent Smith made it to the real world in that guy they captured. What was even the point of him being in the real world! Why did they even have to bring him in? Oh, so he had a little fight with Trinity and Neo. Oooh. The only thing he really did in the 3rd movie was blind Neo. Was that just to make it that much more dramatic, that he could save the world blind??? DUMB. I totally agree with the fact that there were just too many characters to confuse the plot, as shitty as the plot was.

The one thing I did appreciate were the special effects for the sentinals. They looked pretty cool. Other than that!

Have a safe flight PC and Ant :)

Yes, the movie sucked. I finally saw it last weekend.. and was very disappointed. There were WAY too many religious undertones- I mean, did you see the position of Neo's body when he died- a Cross! The savior dies.. I believe the entire Matrix storyline has been plagurized from the best selling book ever- the Bible. Oh, they added fights...very creative.

I knew you would be upset when/if you saw it, that is why I hadn't mentioned it sooner.

Speaking of Lord of the Rings, it comes out on Dec. 17.. I myself am looking forward to the Episode Three of Star Wars- just how does Anikin become Darth Vader... and how does Queen Amadala die..and the twins get separated...I feel like such a geek.

I agree with all the other posts- less movies, more culture. :) Kidding..I realize there are only so many musems, monuments, sites, etc.. that a person can stand in a given week. We all need to watch a movie now and then...to escape.

I am spending Thanksgiving with the in laws..should be interesting..as always.

Hey guys.

Hello!! GOing to the movies twice in 4 months ain't so often!! :) In fact, my time here in India has enabled me to consider how they screwed up these movies from a different perspective, but I won't get into it. Culture ain't just temples and tombs ya know.

After being here in India, I can barely even recognize the Christian themes anymore because the Matrix has such a mix of eastern and western religion. I could go on a diatribe on why the little girl's name (Sati) an interesting choice, as well as the whole "karma" nonsense. The whole trilogy takes snippets from all religions and works them together. We in the west just notice the savior idea more readily.

Also, why are there no Indians in ZIon, only in the Matrix? Ant and I joked because they're all busy programming.

Dewbs, you'll be able to duke it out when you're traveling just fine. Just tell everyone to go to hell who messes with you.

Laters.
