Hong Kong Phooey
A slight change of travel plans – we are now in Hong Kong!! After four weeks of Cambodia, delivering 26 water filters, building two classrooms and touring around we decided it was a case of “seen one temple; see ’em all” and extended our 6 hour layover in Hong Kong to ten days. This gave us the chance to visit some old friends (Graeme and Fredrique) who now live here on a boat. During our visit, Graeme offered to take me kayaking around Discovery Bay.
He obviously hadn’t read the earlier blog entry regarding my expert kayaking skills and true to form after a short while we were swimming instead of paddling. This shouldn’t have been a problem as Dulcie and Fred were following in the dinghy but they’d run out of fuel! Fortunately the coast guard weren’t required and we all got back safely (if a little wet).

Have a great time in Hong Kong!. Geoff was there a couple of weeks ago – but that was business! Don’t try and ring us this next weekend – I’m singing with the choir in Manchester Cathedral on Sunday.
A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DULCIE!!!!!!!!
XXXXXXX
Happy Birthday Dulcie from all of us. Sorry but your card is in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Cambodia, Canada, Bermuda or somewhere in between. We all await your next diversion – Europe or Australia seem to be the only parts of world not yet covered!
We hope you are well and look forward to hearing from you soon.
All our love

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. Don’t really feel any different – perhaps I just have a few more white hairs!!
Robert took me to see over 12,000 buddhas today at the ‘Temple of a Thousand Buddhas’.
We have one day left in Hong Kong and then fly to Vancouver on Tuesday. We’ll be in touch with you all when we get over the jet lag.
Much love,
Dulcie
Happy Birthday Dulcie, wish we were travelling with you instead of being here in ccld damp Shaw. Have a safe journey to Vancouver and we look forward to hearing whatever news you may have. love Dad and Madeline. xxxx
Happy Birthday, Dulcie! Thanks again for Fran’s card – she’s now in double figures – the big one-oh.
We survived 10-pin bowling (don’t tell anyone but I came sixth out of six, beaten by five 9-year old girls who had the good sense to be disparaging about my inept display…), and then that height of gastronomic sophistication, Pizza Hut. Two of her closest friends came back with Fran for the Grand Opening of the Presents, the birthday tea, the latest Harry Potter DVD and a sleepover. We think they finally shut up somewhere around 11:45pm…
Hope you had a great day and that the rest of your trip together is safe and happy!
Best wishes on your birthday
Dulcie – Wishing you a nice quiet day to relax and enjoy your Birthday…. though knowing you, you will proberly be doing something far more extreme!!!!nrnrAll our Love from (rainy and cold) Bolton.
