No Place To Go and All Day To Get There
Well, you folks can learn about Palau while I learn about doing a travel blog. As the title indicates, I am still in the planning stages of the trip that will kick off about the middle of January. I will be in the Republic of Palau for about six weeks doing the research for a guidebook on Palau, “Papa Mike’s Palau Handbook” will be published in the fall of 2005 and will join my two other books. First step in preperation for the trip is arranging for the flight from Los Angeles to Palau. I have acquired sufficent travel awards at American Airlines to get a free flight from Los Angeles to Guam and I am weighing using these miles vs. paying for a Continental Circle Micronesia Pass. Just trying to find out the particulars on the pass has been a challenge, Continental, it turns out, will not explain or send me information on the pass. I am forced to go to a Travel Agency to purchase or have the requirements explained to me. Go figure? The airlines have been squeezing travel agents over the past few years, what an about face. The next entry I will explain the top secrets of the Circle Micronesia Pass and compare the costs vs. using my miles.
