And after reading the latest letter from Service
Canada explaining they are taxing my paltry CPP/OAS
25%
I have come to the conclusion that:
I HATE CANADA!!!

Glad yo love Canada, someone should, but obviously your experiences are different than mine. I presume you have read what happened to me, if you consider that the proper way for a person to be treated, then I feel sorry for you. Yes I am drawing CPP, that I paid into, + OAS that I […]

Walmart finally did it, got too greedy & pissed me off enough to say that’s it, that’s all, no mo dinero to Walmart. For the past year & a half I have done most of my grocery shopping at Despensa Familiar which, I just recently found out, is owned by Walmart. The Despensa is located in Centro by […]

My drivers license was due to expire at the end of next week so with finally receiving my residency card it became possible (mandatory actually) to change my Ontario license for Salvadorian one. Now one would (wrongly) assume the great province of McSquinty land (OnturkeyO) in Canada, have a superior system. Ontario sends out a renewal form in […]

Once upon a time back in November 2011, having returned from Cambodia with no plans for future long term travel, I decided that it was time to apply for my Salvadorian residency. Of course it goes without saying that one has their Canadian passport that cost $85.00 I had obtained the list of necessary documents […]

F I N A L L Y ! Against all odds! “It’s almost impossible for a Canadian to get a resident visa for El Salvador” says my lawyer when I approached him about getting residency so I wouldn’t have to do border runs every 3 months. Always one to take such statements as a challenge to go into Don Quixote mode […]

Everyone has had their own experiences which are the basis of their opinions, to which they’re entitled. You expressed yours & I respect them, mine on the other hand differ. Firstly today’s Canada doesn’t resemble the Canada I grew up in, where a Townships farm boy could grow up to do what he wanted if […]

Finally the last document has arrived from Canada, a mere 6 months after I started the process. WAY TO GO CANADA!! NOT!!!! Of course Canada isn’t done jerking me around & ripping me off yet, the embassy has to get permission to certify them which now apparently takes 2-3 days instead of next day service. Of course there’s the $50 US […]

I also purchased a 3 month supply which I took while on my trip.
They medication acted as promised with no side effects or problems, in my opinion the center is run by health care professionals whose diagnosis can be trusted. I would certainly put more faith in them than Google.

June 14, 2008 the day of my sale when I reached the point of NO RETURN to living a life outside Canada! Life in Canada at that point was still bearable but not to my liking & as I had the resources to live elsewhere, I was on my way to make that dream a reality. At that point in time I still […]

Before another rant on Canada I should write a bit about my visa run to Bogotá. Had planned on just going to Liberia CR but when I went to book the flight, found TACA had a sale on & the fare to Bogotá was only $100 more so it was a no brainer, Colombia here I come. […]

As has been mentioned before, when I was in Ontario last May (2011) I went to the Durham Regional Police offices in Oshawa (the local Bowmanville ones closed to the great unwashed public) to apply for a criminal records check, filled out the form, paid my $40 & figured it was a done deal. When […]

I am glad you can get by on OAS, I couldn’t on mine, never made enough CPP contributions. Yes I am bitter by the shafting by corrupt, petty civil servants when winding down my business & even now the BS in trying to get a criminal records check is ridiculous. Add t that the way […]

Feliz Año Nuevo to you & yours
Haven’t listed on TA as they have some really draconian rules for property owners that I can’t abide by, thanks for good luck wishes, much appreciated.

Yesterday was an interesting experience in contrasts between the way governments/civil servants from (supposedly) 1st & 3rd world (yeah I know that’s politically correct) operate. The 40 minute or so drive in to the city was more interesting as there are now 5 manhole covers missing, instead of the 3 last week (price of scrap is up) […]

* Warning this is a major anti Canadian rant! You’re saying, ‘Hey dude you live in Central America, what do you expect?’ or ‘You back in Asia?’ NOPE!!! Right in ONTARIO, CANADA, EH!!! It started last summer when I had to return to Crapanada to wrap up some business. I knew that a criminal record check was necessary for a residency […]

I see it’s time to renew my visa next week which means I’ve been home nearly 90 days without updating my blog. A couple reasons for that, nothing much worth saying, plus a lack of ambition. Found that my manager had kept everything under control while I was away & all was satisfactory. She had found an abandoned […]

Although I have only had a small taste of Hawaii, mainly in tourist central Waikiki Beach area, I did make extensive use of TheBus, Honolulu’s public transportation system. Which is the best I have encountered in any other US/Canadian city. http://www.thebus.org Then of course the moneyed tourists assure there is lots of shopping. Needed a new pair of […]
