noodle quest 2006

So i just got back from DC and had a supremely fantastic time with my wonderful hosts katie, kylie and chopin, even though chopin scratched me deep enough to slice my life line open and leave me for dead. i got to meet a lot of super nice friends and take a trip to the national zoo where kylie and i formed a deep bond with an orangutang who had a lot of love to give. we ate a lot of burritos and drank a lot of beer and had a wonderful mini beehive reunion. While in dc i also got a japanese encepylitis shot and my visa from the vietnamese embassy. kylie and i breathlessly showed up to pick up my visa at 12:29 on friday (the office closed 50 seconds later) which felt kind of like a helpful predictor of the success that noodle quest 2005 will surely be. yesterday i played with elyse and joss in the park and watched a yuppie single dad get hit on by 6 different women. after that lauren and i cooked some garlicky chard and curry chicken with peaches (yuuuuuuuum) and then went up on the roof to get loud. there are some weird cell phone sites and satelite dishes up there and i really felt like i had electro waves passing through my brain…. maybe not such a good spot to chill. p.s. I AM LEAVING IN 10 DAYS!!!!!! i guess the countdown has begun.

so it turns out that even though i gave my two weeks notice, the cruel and terrible french gnome that was my boss decided not to put me on the schedule for this week, which is fine because i would have only been able to work on monday and tuesday anyway. lately i have felt very nervous spelling the word “tuesday” i always feel i am headed for disaster after the “t.” This week in my life is entitled “full force wedding week” as elyse MUST have a wedding place picked out by saturday. she is coming over today so we can make a master list of locations, call for appts. and plot out our attack for the rest of the week.
