Days 101-120: Borneo Insects
A few of the interesting insects we’ve seen in Borneo.
Woolly caterpillar on Mt. Kinabalu.
Kelly refused to use the handrails at Niah Caves National Park despite the fact that the walkway was treacherously slippery. The next two pictures explain why.
These red ‘pedes (don’t know of which type) were everywhere!
Wouldn’t want to grab one of these guys in a dark cave. They were huge.

Gorgeous cobalt blue beetle in Bako National Park.
This pillbug was enormous – bigger than Marcus’ thumb. (Bako NP)
Might have been a cicada, but it’s got such a weird nose that we’re not sure. (Niah Caves NP)

There should be at least 3 bugs, or my perl isn’t what it used to be.
Ok, I must be missing the OEL… (perhaps the fact that I was reading the Art of Unix Programming in a resturant on the edge of a volcano crater a week ago says something too).
