It’s very busy with all the festivals this weekend. Here’s a short list, not comprehensive.
Today, wear RED to show support for our Troops this Red Friday. Tony Druett, the co chair of the Edmonton Salutes committee, says part of the early evening event will be an air show at Northlands. This will include a flypast by CF-18’s and helicopters, along with performances by the world-famous Snowbirds’ aerobatic team and Skyhawks’ skydive team.
Admission to the Northlands grounds will be free, but only if you come in through the Borden Park entrance near the Spectrum between 5 and 6pm.
– 2008 Canoe Polo Championships Competition started Jul 24 and runs till Jul 27th.
– Rexall Edmonton Indy is in town this weekend.
– Capital Ex or K-Days, as I still call it, will end this weekend. I am going to see the butterfly exhibit! Featuring the World’s largest butterfly, as large as your hand.
– It’s the Taste of Edmonton‘s final weekend. Come and try out some great eats at Churchill square!
