Mungo Brush campsite

woke up at 5am as every sigle person in the other campsites bugged out! Seemed quite strange to me to be awake that early just to pack up and go. Us on the other hand stayed until 11am. Lesuirely brekkie of Nutella and banana. Stopped off at another beach as we left the national park. This beach unfortunately was FAR, FAR away! Getting over that first sand dune, I couldn’t even see the ocean, but Kath said it was just over the next dune so I kept walking on the burning hot sand. At the top of the second sand dune, I could see the ocean but it was so far away. I almost stopped to turn around but Kath was determined to swim in the ocean and mentioned that we were more than half way there now so we might as well keep going.
Half an hour trek and 5 sand dunes later we reach the beach and jumped right into the icy, freezing cold water! I saw jelly fish and a shark in the water! it was cool!

Actually, as I waded in, I noted a really cool looking jellyfish and after mentioning it to Kathryn, she freaked out asking if it was a blue colour or something. Not a bluebottle but still worrisome to see jelly fish because of their sting. Then I saw a fin in the water heading parallel to the beach and asked her if it was a dolphin. She jumped back and thought it might be a shark cuz dolphins travel in packs and I only saw one fin.

Besides that the hard, long trek over the sand dunes was worth the views and experience. I loved standing at the top of the dune, looking to the left to see ocean to the horizon, looking straight ahead to see so much sand it was like desert, and then looking to the right to see bush covered hills and and lake. Gorgeous. The only drawback was my camera battery died on the first night!! Will have to get copies of pics from Kathryn and Nicole.
