Last night Eddie had his co-workers over for a farewell bbq dinner and Eveline and I stayed around to help out and eat food before heading downtown for the Fringe parade and party.
We were late getting to the parade route and had a difficult time meeting up with Phil and Neda. The parade started to go by just as we were trying to figure out how to cross over the road closure to get to them.
After meeting up with them and watching the parade (very political and promotional; every production had people walking along handing out their flyer and people from a bank walked in their matching t-shirts and different non-profits) we wandered around the show grounds of both the Garden of Unearthly Delights as well as the Sideshow Paradiso. It was a great atmosphere overall with great DJ music and cool lights reflecting off all the trees in the park. All the sideshows were very artsy and out there.
I had a try on the trapeeze and am considering taking their 2 hour course. It was pretty fun flying around up there.
For the bbq we made an impressive fruit punch and created a spinach salad with sun-dried tomatoes out of what was left in the fridge. Eddie had thought someone would bring salad, Eveline and I whipped up the salad with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil vinegrette. The lasdies were impressed with our creativity and presentation of everything.
