We are Here!

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Hello Everyone!

We have arrived safely in Cuzco. Our flights were pretty boring and long. Although, our flight into Lima had a ton of good movies to watch. Yay!

We slept in the Lima airport, which is pretty darn modern. It has a Papa John´s Pizza and you can order a McNificent from McDonalds. After going through immigration and customs (Anne and I both got the red light at customs) we pulled out our sleeping bags and cuddled up in a corner. The three of us slept pretty well, especially considering that the airport decided to repeatedly test the fire alarm system.

We are settled into our hostel. Which is remarkably cute. I was especially excited when the shower had HOT water!

Today we walked down to Plaza de Armas, which is the central square of Cuzco. It is only a few days before the Inti Raymi festival (Incan Sun Festival) and they are having a huge parade. We arrived in the square around 8:00 am, and it is now after 2:00 and they are still going strong. Many of the groups have gone around two or three times, I´m not sure how they have the endurance.

I´m off to take a nap. Liz and Anne are in search of a bath towel and some locks for our hostel luggage lockers.

I´ll post a few pictures later.
