There are some people in the class that think that just showing up is enough. This is part of the danger of paying for someone’s tuition. And it is an indication of an attitude that does not foster a credible relationship. If we find a job for that person, and whether it is in abroad or domestically, then the reality of that person re-paying the loan, is a slim chance. Read the rest of this entry »
A student gave me an excuse as the reason for not studying, (took the same quiz twice and still did unsatisfactory). He told me to understand some of his sacrifices he made in order to be there in the class.
Please appreciate my sacrifices. Please appreciate my sacrifice of paying for 12 people’s tuition, and hoping that they have enough maturity, responsibility and interest to carry them through their training that they have not paid for. Please appreciate my sacrifice of trust, and faith, that these 12 students will cultivate their compassion, their study habits, their intuition, so that we can recommend these 12 students for jobs and they will repay their loan in order to train other students. I’m going to try to catch up with my blog and recount some of the exciting things that happened during our first week of training…please stay glued to your screen….
The first day, which was 30 January, was interesting. We went over the policies for Himalayan Healers and for Tranquility School. Hem, the co-owner, or managing director explained to the class about personal grooming: short hair for men, above the ears, and no long bangs on the forehead. Every day something really interesting comes up. It’s so hard to keep up.
Last Wednesday, I came into the classroom and was disappointed that one of our students was sitting, as an observer to someone giving a manicure. We have a total of 12 students, and every day last week, someone was severely late or absent, so we’d always have 11 people. Read the rest of this entry »
Well, it was an exhausting start to a hectic week. We started classes on Sunday, and also had a fundraiser we organized in the evening. We premiered the new documentary The Indigo Evolution.
The second day we had more people come, about half (12 people) were people I didn’t know. Friends brought friends and others read about it in the events listing in the Himalayan Times. Read the rest of this entry »
