Stupid Zebra
Went to Glebe yesterday. It was very cute, very Berkeley. I read for a bit in a Free Trade Coffee Shop and it was like being deposited back at the Motley (scripps coffee house). Very surreal.
Exchanged books. At a couple of used book stores. Had 6, now I have 4. (Actually 6 because there are 2 in my bag I haven’t gotten to yet). 2 Ngaio Marshes, The Book Thief, and OotP. (I still can’t find most of my list for less than 30$)
Yesterday the hostel switched computer systems, resulting in lots of long lines and problems. For amends they gave us free champagne in the bar, as long as we all wore bin bags. I fashioned mine into a cape.
Today I’m hanging around the hostel. Did a post office run, laundry. Waiting until my airport shuttle at 5pm. Working on my CV, although I can’t find my latest version. I have to send it to the temp people in Christchurch. Otherwise bumming around, listening to AFI (I’m on a kick), watching trailers, and catching up on the news. Reporting next from Cairns!
2 AICN Joshua interviews
Vera’s interview includes this lil nugget:
“Acting with Sam is really lovely because all he’s concerned about is telling the truth of the moment and doing whatever it takes to achieve that. So when he’s flipping you over in your undies and smacking your bottom and squeezing it in certain ways where maybe they hadn’t considered lighting if he had rehearsed it that way in rehearsal, you’ve got to go with it. [laughs] The thing about working with Sam is that he reminds me that it’s fun no matter what the task at hand is.” Sure… “telling the truth of the moment”…
Musica: Ava adore – smashing pumpkins, only – NIN, Jenny was a friend of mine – Killers, Hey Pretty – Poe, Dancing through Sunday, Ziggy Stardust – AFI

“bin bags”?
British for garbage bags.
Why on earth did you need to wear garbage bags? Oz is weird…
I don’t know. It was just something the hostel bar did…
