Stephen Colbert; demigod
My plane was delayed over an hour and a half. I got to my hostel at 12:45 at night. Grrr…
However, the hostel is cute (I might come back to it after Port Douglas, even if it is a bit more expensive). I really like Cairns so far. You can see tree covered mountains in most directions, the ocean and lagoon at one end of the city, everything has covered walkways and balconys, there are palm trees. Its very tropical and laid back. And super friendly! When I got in last night, 3 people introduced themselves and helped show me to my room at the hostel. The lady who drove me from the airport, a lady at the post office, the lady at hostel reception – all super nice! It is hot here, and I think I need to break down and replace my sunglasses, so I stop squinting. It’s kind of like San Diego, but quainter. Stopped by the pharmacy, and checked out a couple of bookstores to decide where I’ll be picking up Harry Potter (9am the 21st).
This is hysterical: Bush pardons entire GOP. “Prez pre-emptively saves all repubs from becoming “prison bitches”. Dems: “Can he do that?”” (Thanks, dad!)
An interview from EW on “I AM AMERICA“. I love you, Colbert.
