I love this place

Yesterday, I arrived here in Koh Tao, an Island off the east coast of Thailand.

This place is better than I imagined.

First of all, it’s genuinely stunning here. I wish I could post pictures but I’ve lost my camera cable (along with my jeans, my guidebook, my shirt,  my ipod wall charger, and the novel I was reading.) *edit: got a new one, so I added pictures* The beach is a stone’s throw from where I’m staying, and I can see the ocean and palm trees from my window. This morning, I took a pre-breakfast swim. I signed up to become PADI certified in scuba diving. My first lesson starts today! And that means my accomodation is free (for now). 🙂

Here is the view from my balcony (day and evening. be jealous):

Hey Anna, Ko Tao is where I did my PADI course too, what dive shop are you using?

Wow…I love it there too….you are really making me miss it! 🙂

Oh yeah….in the southern part of the island, opposite end from Saladan…ask locals about “shark bay”. I went there, swam out in the morning, and was the only guy snorkeling in the water with 8 blacktip reef sharks!

An unforgettable experience that most people don’t know about on Ko tao.

    Hey Greg!
I’m diving with New Way. They’ve been really great so far. Which company did you use?
I’ll definitely have to look in to shark bay! Thanks for the info.

Love the pictures. They look a lot like Tunnels beach here on Kuai where we were this morning. Mom snorkled for almost 4 hours. I snorkled for a half hour and read my book. Emma snorkled for 90 minutes and then took a nap. Madeline played in the water for 3 hours then snorkled for 1. Scuba is probably more fun.
