January 10, 2005Charity really?
If anyone is actually reading this let me put this upfront what happed in SEA was really sad and the world needs to do everything it can to help these people. But while in Australia I was reading Australia newspapers and papers from India, China, US on the web. All through the call of help there seems to underlying theme that US and Australia want to help because somehow they think if they do not help these people there might be rise of terrorism, is this really charity? I heard Powell give intereview on CNN about this topic. I wonder if Bush said in the whitehouse can we invade Tsunami? Then you have India and China donating money and editorial and politicians saying we need to know to flex our power in the region. Whatever happened to giving just because you can and not experting anything back. I think that is how one defines charity, no? Then in Australia there was great discussion about god and his wrath for sins of humanity as one idiot Pastor actually mentioned that Tsunami was god's way of punishing us for our sins. Then I read that muslim idiot cleric in Iran said the same thing. It is indeed comforting to know that at least the world religion is united in its stupidity.
