May 14, 2005Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
In Hanoi the body of Ho Chi Minh has been embalmed and is on display for your viewing pleasure. I missed him last time I was in town because he is sent to Russia regularly for cleaning and maintenance. The security is very high and visitors must wear respectful clothing and are not allowed to carry cameras in. You are not allowed to speak while viewing the body nor to keep your hands in your pockets. The viewers are paraded in a continuously moving line through a darkened room on the semicircular walkway with the well lit mummy 15 feet away in the center of the room. It was a strange experience. He looked awfully pale, although after being dead for nearly 40 years i guess what can you expect!? Posted by ruthiebaby88 on May 14, 2005 04:06 PM
