March 30, 2005Afternoon Rest
Most people in Vietnam stay up very late and get up very early. They work long hours, but they usually take a rest for one or two hours in the afternoon. These ladies are lounging on their bed. Although they were poor in possessions, the setting of their houses was sublime. Far from the noise and pollution of the cities, they lived in small wooden huts with walls open to accomodate the breeze and the lovely view of the surrounding mountains. Sitting here feeling the gentle wind, listening to the birds, and looking out at the magnificent landscape (and munching on fresh pineapple), I couldn't imagine wanting to be somewhere else. I felt they have wealth of a different sort. Comments
Great shot of happy people! And what a beautiful misty mountain view. Posted by: Suzen on April 2, 2005 01:16 PM |
