München Day 4
This has got to me the worst day of traveling in my life, and at the same time one of the most enlightening times. I woke up this morning with a yearning to travel as far east as possible, so like an idiot I deffered my Eurailpass to get my money back to use on a train to budapest or anywhere east like that. I figured I would just simply change my flight into Hong Kong to St Louis. Well, lesson 1 ALWAYS BOOK OPEN ENDED FLIGHTS IF YOU CAN the ones which allow you to exit from whichever city. So I found out that I couldnt do either one of these things right. So Im stuck with going back on July 5th with Munich flight still. Which is ok, but I had made the mistake of completely F-ing up my railpass, so I had to get a new one. Which pretty completely screws up my budget. So, hopefully Ill be able to get a refund on my railpass. Probably not though, which means I have lost around 400 dollars in the process.
This isnt really that bad though, worst things could happen like being robbed or ran over by a tram. The real reason I complain is because this is SELF INDUCED stupidity. I didnt research the whole thing through, I was rash and left in a hurry. So, nevertheless, I am currently rested up and ready to catch a train to Prague. From there Ill have an awesome freaking time and definitely hook up or something. Im still in good shape though, because I might be able to salvage my unscathed railpass and get my money back. Which only means I lost 100 dollars then. It doesnt matter though. I dont care about the money. I care about the lesson I learned. Think things through and dont be in a hurry to do ANYTHING EVER. Hurrying is a product of laziness, I hate hurrying things. So I now know to just sit back a bit and think something over a bit before doing it. I love instances like this, because it only makes me a better person. Sure, I did something stupid. But Ive only lossed a monetary value, and GAINED more knowledge of what to do and not do in travel.
So in summary I look at this day as not only a horrible, rushed, and worried day. But also, a chance to realize my own failings and decide to not hurry anything.
Well, Im off to catch my train in Prague, wish me luck. Im going to have a freaking blast in Prague. I cant wait!!!
P.S. Jay, I was using the little Japanese I know I a cool couple from Tokyo at the laundromat. Thanks for the tips Jay, they really enjoyed my broken Japanese. And I the same.
Take care friends,
