April 05, 2006Ever on the Wing Wrap Up
- 1 circumnavigation of the globe In the past 11 months we have: There are many people who helped us make this possible. We would like to thank:
Q: What was your favourite country? Q: Did you ever feel you were in danger? Q: Did anything really bad happen to you? Q: Who looked after your dog? Q: What is it like spending 24/7 together? Q: Did you ever get really sick? Q: Are you going to write a book? Q: Have you satisfied your travel bug? Q: How did your flights work? Q: How will you adjust to your return to the “Real World”? Thanks again for the support. Please feel free to email us personally with any questions to brandyandkevin@telus.net. And if you haven’t signed our guestbook yet, please do so NOW! Thanks, Brandy and Kevin Vancouver Airport May 6, 2005 Comments
what a journey glad your home safe and sound, sorry to hear your getting real jobs, house and the sort. if it were me i would keep going. look us up in Oriental NC looks like were moving here for good. Welcome home!!! I have enjoyed reading your website so much - I will really miss it!!! I am sure your family and especially Trueman are happy to have you back in Vancouver. Iwish you both the very best and I look forward to hearing about your next adventure! whatever that might be!!! What a journey...you both did change in more ways than one...even your pictures before and after pictures attest to that..the glow and ease and well, yes, the bad hair. So glad to have you back! love, Dear Kevin and Brandy I really couldn't fully enjoy all your travels until you arrived safely home, being the family worrier and all, but now I love every minute: even the trek on camels in the desert while we went crazy wondering if you were safe from the earthquake.. A great story ....NOW! We are sure your life will be full of so many more wonderful tales and we look forward to hearing all of them. Kevin has always been recognized as a special story teller but now we know that you are equal in that regard Brandy. We love every minute of your blog and every picture. I can't tell you how often we gasped at the beauty we shared vicariously through the photos. You would not believe the number of people I recommended read along on your blog and I am sure that any who read one day in your life would read every one thereafter. So I am sorry to hear a book is not part of your plans but I am excited to see what is! Much love always Uncle Eric and Auntie Norma and the gang. Hey Guys, Well you've finally got round the global board and back to go, without going to jail and collecting $200 – though I think you did visit enough stations and more than enough brown properties! I must thank you for being fantastic company in Goa and Fort Kochin and for adding to the surreal nature of the Ashram. If ever a ride in a lift could have such an impact that first ride with the tattooed bald man in the Ashram was it! Kevin - if I’d even considered looking at you that day I'm sure I'd still be recovering from burst ribs! Again those short blows of Canadian sarcasm you threw at the 'happy go lucky' concierge in that dirty hotel in Kollam was … truly magnificent. You really do manage to bring a (much appreciated) smile to the weary traveller! Brandy – you too added so much value to those days - you were both such a please to be with. Which brings me on to the next point of thanks. To be travelling ourselves for the first time was magnificent, enthralling, exciting (you know how the first time is) but to have the opportunity to be part of your experience too was great. Even just following it from a cold, wet Newcastle between teaching periods was good! Well, to wrap this up for now, I must wish you well in all that you do. So far you have managed to carve an inspirational path through your travels which I’m sure you’ll better time and time again. Only from now on we’d like to keep in touch with you guys and follow your plans. So, if ever you wish to brave the arctic conditions of the North east of England then we’d be happy to have you guys come visit, obviously were all very nice people in England who spend afternoons drinking tea and eating scones whilst talking about cricket and hedgerows. So should you need a guide to the UK forget the lonely planet and drop us a line … we’d be happy to help! Long socks and shorts for Kevin, gingham dresses for Brandy. Thanks again guys, much love, Darryl and Clare (though I know Clare has already posted!) Post a comment
