I just got off the phone with my mom and dad, and they asked if I'd heard of the pirate attack on a cruise ship off the coast of Somalia. I had not, but I took a quick minute to Google it, and see what came out. Sure enough, a couple of boats tried to attack and board a Seabourn ship (the Spirit), which successfully outmaneuvered them. The ship was hit with some small arms fire and a rocket from an RPG, but no passengers were injured. Only one crew member was slightly wounded. If you're interested, here are a few links... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=251873 (from Cruise Critic's message board. A guy who's onboard actually posted several hour afterward, along with a picture that he took...see the second page of the board thread. Cruise Critic news article Thankfully things worked out well. If you've ever taken a cruise, you know that it's sort of like a club or community...something like that makes its way around pretty quickly. I'm in the process of putting up some pictures from yesterday's trek up Mt. Nokogiri, and promise to have them up soon. Comments
